This photograph was taken from Eighth Street looking west down Wabash Avenue. The large building on the right (north side of Wabash Avenue) housed the Bement-Rea wholesale grocery company. the building was constructed in in 1889 and the business moved to 30 north eight Street in 1910. The Lyric Theater, later renamed the Orpheum, was located in the middle of the block.
