The Big Four was named after the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway, who opened this depot in 1899. Situated at Seventh and Tippecanoe Streets it later serviced the New York Central Lines and later still Amtrak's National Limited and finally Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) in 1976. The last passenger train to run through the city was in 1979 and this station was demolished in 1986. The site is now part of Indiana State University campus.
