Introduction
There are, or rather were, two Bristols in Iowa. One was in Worth County, in fact it was the county seat. The other is in Greene County, to the southwest of Worth County.

Worth County
In July 2002 we visited Patty's brother in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On the way we went to the Bristol's in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Worth County, Iowa.
We very nearly drove straight through Bristol, Worth County when we visited it in July 2002. We only saw one house, and that was it.
Bristol, Iowa
Bristol Township was established in 1855 in prairie land. By July 1860, around a third, over a hundred people, of the community had immigrated from Norway. The town became Worth County seat on May 7, 1858, but saw a decline whem the seat was moved to Borthwood in October 1863.
In 1935 the population was 674. The Strom School in Bristol was destroyed by a tornado in 1953. The Bristol Lutheran Church was torn down in 1969 after 77 years in use. In 2000, the Somber Lutheran Church, which was built in 1929, was destroyed in an act of arson.
This is the only marker we could find, a pretty interesting one though.
