Throughout the albums dad has inserted photographs of the areas covered by HMS Gambia and HMS Warrior. Sometimes these are maps but usually just a list of places and dates. From these I have been able to produce the maps below.

HMS Warrior ~ 1954 cruise

HMS Warrior left Plymouth, England (1), on 14th February 1954 and reached Gibraltar (2), on the 21st. From there she sailed to Malta (3), where she stayed from 24th February to 17th April. She reached the Suez Canal on the 21st. Four days later, on the 25th, she reached the Arabian Sea (5), where she met and escorted the Gothic, carrying HM, The Queen. On 3rd May, she reached Malta (6) . Leaving on the 7th May she reached Singapore (7) on the 12th May. Leaving on the 3rd June she sailed for Hong Kong (8), reaching it on 8th June.

HMS Warrior then spent some time sailing around the South China Sea and Sea of Japan.

On the 12th June she left Hong Kong for Japan. She spent a couple of days at Kobe (9)(15 - 16th June), then Kure (10) (16 - 19th June). From Kure she sailed to Sushebo (11) reaching it on 20th June. Leaving there on 21st she sailed for Inchay (12) where she stayed from the 29th June to 2nd July. Then she sailed back to Kure (10) . Below is set out HMS Warrior's voyages around the area.

Kure (10) ~ 4 - 12 July, 24 - 28 July, 6 - 8 August

Kure - Singapore (7) 8 - 16 August

Singapore ~ 16 - 31 August

Thaiphong (Vietnam) Evacuation ~ 31 Aug - 15 September

A total of 3,188 refugees were taken in two journeys South from Haipong to St. Jaques

Singapore ~ 15 - 23 September

Singapore - Hong Kong (8) ~ 23 - 28 September

Hong Kong ~ 28 September - 7 October

On 7th October HMS Warrior left Hong Kong for Singapore and onwards for Durban (13), South Africa. From Durban she sailed for Port Elizabeth (14), Simonstown and Capetown (15). Sailing across the Equator on the way to Dakar (16), they were summonsed to the Court of His Oceanic Highness King Neptune.

HMS Warrior arrived back in Plymouth on 16th December 1954, having spent 10 months away from home and having steamed 50,435 miles.
